The Faces Behind Catalan Adventures

Meet the Team

We’re not a big travel company — just a small, passionate local team who fell in love with Catalonia and never left.

Since 2007, we’ve been helping travelers explore this region the way we do: at your own pace, along quiet trails, through medieval villages, vineyards and coastlines many visitors never find.

We personally test every route, accommodation and restaurant we recommend. Our aim isn’t to grow fast or go global, it’s to keep doing what we love, sharing genuine experiences that connect people with the landscapes, food and the traditions of Catalonia.

Steve

Founder

Steve spent eight incredible years in the military, during his final two years, he worked as a Skydiving Instructor and discovered his passion for outdoor pursuits. After leaving the military, he followed a different career path for a time before he and his wife moved to Catalonia in 2006 to pursue the life and work they truly love.

Maria

Founder & Guide

Maria has always loved the outdoors; she spent many years in the Territorial Army and most weekends you’d find her walking/running in the hills close to where she lived in Manchester or up in the mountains in the Lake District where she gained a lot of fell walking experience walking both in winter and summer.

Izzy

Bookings, Support & Guide

Izzy spent many years in sales with the German railway freight company but always loved the outdoors. Yearly holidays in northern Catalonia led her to move here permanently in 2020. She now enjoys the region’s outdoor paradise — from walking and cycling to horseback riding and skydiving.

Des

Guide

Des is a former Warrant Officer in the Royal Marines with numerous outdoor pursuit qualifications. A passionate road cyclist, he takes every opportunity to train on the local roads and hills. In 2014, he competed in the first Girona Gran Fondo, finishing 2nd in his age category. He has also taken part in several endurance events, including a 350-mile charity ride from southern Spain to northern France, completed in just 24 hours.

Suzy

Guide

Suzy is a former skydiver with over 1,000 jumps and comes from a family deeply involved in the sport, with many still competing and working at a high level around the world. She’s also passionate about road cycling and loves hiking in the hills and mountains near her home and in the high Pyrenees, exploring new trails whenever she can.

Hamish

Head of Trail Testing

Hamish is a much loved member of our team and often greets many of our guests with his friendly, playful nature. He takes his “work” very seriously in his own unique way, whether it’s splashing in the sea, diving into rivers, or rolling around in his favourite muddy puddles. When he’s not busy entertaining everyone, he can usually be found relaxing in the sun or keeping a watchful eye on the day’s adventures.
