Terrain: Rolling plains, farmland, olive groves, vineyards, pine woods, dormant Volcanoes and the Mediterranean coast .
You will cycle predominately on Greenways, however you will also cycle on farm tracks and quiet country lanes.
Day 1, Arrival: Arrival at Girona Airport or Figueres Vilafant Train Station (if travelling from Barcelona), where you will be transferred to Olot, once there you will have a welcome meeting and bike fitting.
Olot is a lovely historic town located in the heart of the “Parc Natural de la Zona Volcanica de la Garrotxa.” It is worth straying away from its larger streets and taking the time to explore its narrow lanes that will lead you to some beautiful hidden squares where you’ll find some great local bars and restaurants.
Day 2, Olot – Les Planes d’Hostoles: Today on the first day of your adventure you will follow the old railway “El Carrilet d’Olot” that has been turned into a traffic-free cycle-way. It will take you through a very scenic rural area (the Bas Valley) known as the “Catalan Switzerland.” On your way to your final destination, you’ll cycle through some beautiful “off-the-beaten-track” villages and finally on to the charming village of Les Planes d’Hostoles. Your accommodation is a lovely rural hotel with a swimming pool. (20km)
Day 3, Les Planes d’Hostoles – La Cellera de Ter: You continue along this beautiful cycling route, again enjoying the river Brugent valleys. You are still in the volcanic region of La Garrotxa and the mountains on both sides of you are old volcanoes. Your destination is La Cellera de Ter at the confluence of the Ter and the Brugent rivers, a settlement that dates back to medieval times. Your accommodation is a beautiful rural guesthouse with a swimming pool. (19km)
Day 4, La Cellera de Ter – Girona: On today’s route you will continue through the stunning Catalan countryside to the charming city of Girona. Rich in culture and steeped in history you’ll have plenty of time to visit Girona’s historic quarter with its historical monuments, beautiful buildings, cathedral, shops and restaurants. Your accommodation is a hotel in the centre of the city. (22km)
Day 5, Girona – Llagostera: Leaving Girona behind you will head back into the Catalan countryside, you will pass the village of Quart, well-known for its ceramics and traditional pottery workshops. You will pass Cassà de la Selva, with its modernist houses in the centre of the town. A few more kilometers and you’ll arrive in Llagostera, a beautiful rural area surrounded by vines and olive trees. Your accommodation is another beautiful rural guesthouse with a swimming pool. (24km)
Day 6, Llagostera – Sant Feliu de Guíxols: Goodbye Green, Hello Blue! Today’s route is long but flat and easy, you will cycle along another spectacular route to the beautiful coastal village of Sant Feliu de Guixols with its magnificent fishing port and famous Monastery. Your accommodation is a hotel in the centre of the city. (19km)
Day 7, Departure: Today you depart and we’re sure you’ll have some great memories from you Catalan Adventure. Of course, if you’d like to stay on for a few days for some time on the coast, just let us know and we’d be happy to provide you with a price.

They are very professional in all respects. I am just back from the Catalan Coast and Mountains walking holiday, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. The itinerary, scenery, recommendations, and coordination were without fault. Steve, Liam, and Maria were so good to work with. The dinner recommendation at La Gruta in L’Escala was incredible, and the scenery was absolutely amazing. Thanks guys!Posted on Google Llewellyn FernandesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fabulous week of hiking! Weather was perfect. Nice to start out flat for a couple of days then hit the mountains. They were definitely tough but not unexpectedly so. Hiking poles were definitely needed to make the days better. The online app worked really well, letting us know when we strayed too far off the route. The PDF instructions were accurate and helpful. For the rest day we did a 2 hour loop instead of the full route and it was perfect. Allowed us time for lunch at one of the beach restaurants we saw on the route. 15 minute walk to it and then went to lay on the beach at the end of the bay. Hotels were very comfortable and all well situated. Cadaques is definitely one place we intend to visit again.Posted on Google Tim BarryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip (beach and mountains in style) with a different flavor for each of the 5 hiking days. Accommodations and the food were top notch (we lost no weight😄). Catalan Adventures is highly recommended in our bookPosted on Google Dipti SalopekTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an 8 day hiking trip where Catalan Adventures took care of booking our hotels and transporting our luggage from location to location. Every part of the arrangement was perfect. And the team on the ground was very proactive in providing instructions and responsive if we had questions. Couldn’t ask for more!Posted on Google Roberta DreghornTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We loved our walk in the Costa Brava area. It was lovely to be picked up by Maria who gave us a great introduction to the area and our walk. The coastline was magnificent and the towns we stayed in were perfect. The hotels were in great positions and the breakfasts were a real bonus. The instructions were very clear and the days were not too arduous. We had enough time to explore the towns when we arrived. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. Highly recommend.Posted on Google John DaviesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I just returned from the Catalan Coast and Mountain hiking trip. We can’t say enough good things about the hike itself as well as Catalan Adventures. They were full of helpful information, organized and helpful from the beginning of the trip to the end. The hikes went through diverse and beautiful areas of Catalonia. The accommodations were welcoming and comfortable in interesting towns. There were excellent recommendations on side trips and restaurants. The hiking app was straightforward and easy to use even for someone like me us who aren’t too technologically oriented!
